When 1 is good, two is better...

Since first laying eyes on the 3180 tanker truck, I wanted to see how it would look as a rail car. What luck when I ran across a BOGO sale on the 3180 at K-Mart last week! Kit-bashing two of them into a single rail car affords a more realistic profile, I think. Catch more pictures of the model on Brickshelf. Now I really want to buy about 4 or 5 more!

  1. Looks good. I think a rake with slight differences would look cool, built by different stock builders and all leased to Octan. I'd not see the curved ladder before, is it rigid or flexible?
I think you could improve it by working on the top centre walkway section, the 4x6 plate is just a bit 'basic'

  2. The ladder is the one that comes with that set. It is malleable and doesn't mind keeping that shape after I pre-squished it. It is secured at both the top and bottom.

Yes I agree. Something more imaginative is called for up top!
